Biography
Dr. Julie Jeansonne was born and raised in Metairie, LA where she attended Archbishop Chapelle for high school and then moved to Baton Rouge to attend LSU for her undergraduate degree. She then attended LSU Health Shreveport where she completed her medical degree. Her residency training was completed at University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama, where she was the Chief Resident.
While in her residency, her awards included Best Intern, Best Reproductive Endocrinology Resident, Best Female Pelvic Floor Resident, Best Gynecology Resident, Best Robotic Surgeon Resident, and the Resident's Choice award.
Dr. Jeansonne provides a wide range of OB/GYN care including obstetrics, gynecology and minimally invasive gynecological surgery, preconception and fertility counseling and care, and adolescent gynecology. Dr. Jeansonne's goal is to provide the best possible care to the women of the New Orleans area within a caring and compassionate environment where open discussion between a patient and their doctor is valued. She looks forward to forming long-lasting relationships with her patients throughout their lives as they experience everything from pregnancy to postpartum care, menopause, and any gynecologic needs that may arise.

Dr. Jeansonne has incredible bedside manner. She took the time to answer all of my questions and never made me feel rushed. She was informative throughout the entire exam, friendly and made me feel comfortable. I can't recommend her enough. I'll continue seeing her as long as she's available!

Dr. Jean Sonne is very pleasant and personal - excellent bedside manner; makes patients feel comfortable and at ease during examination, very thorough in exam and explanation of what she's doing, always ask if there is anything the patient would like to discuss - excellent care.

Dr. Jeansonne makes the most uncomfortable appointment so easy. She is so patient, so easy to talk to, and such a good listener. And even though I know she's so busy, she never made me feel rushed. She has always treated me this way for the 4 years I've been her patient. We thoroughly discussed an issue I have been having. She offered several thoughts on what could be causing it. We discussed each to see if it could possibly be causing my problem. And we made a plan on how to approach resolving the issue. I truly can't say enough good things about Dr. Jeansonne. I hope she remains at Ochsner for a long time.
Dr. Jeansonne is the most compassionate doctor I've ever had. She is also very smart and makes evidence based decisions. She clearly goes the extra mile for her patients, often literally as she quickly came to the L&D room for my unplanned delivery. She was the best part of my pregnancy and delivery process.
