Sidney Jackler (or Sid, as he prefers) has practiced neurology all over the country (on account of his wifes Naval Service) including Virginia, Louisiana and Hawai'i. He has come back to Ochsner to rejoin the Department of Neurology. His home office is at the Covington Clinic in the Headache Centre. Sid has collaborated with subspecialist neurologists from all over the world, with his own particular interest in cephalgia (i.e., headache) management and stroke. He received his Masters degree at Eastern Virginia Medical School in 2010 where he was inducted into the Pi Alpha Honor Society. Sid also had formal medical education in England and his undergrad was at the University of Rochester in New York (Deans List). Sid was on faculty in the Department of Neurology and the Physician Assistant Program at Eastern Virginia Medical School. He has taught at Louisiana State University - New Orleans and during his first tenure in Louisiana he was the Director at Large of the Louisiana Academy of Physician Assistants. While he practiced stroke and headache medicine in Honolulu, with occasional time for the beach and exploring the Hawaiian Islands, he was on faculty for the University of Washington MEDEX program, and he was a member & guest lecturer to the Hawai'i Academy of Physician Assistants and The Hawai'i Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons. Sid is a member of a multitude of professional societies and is a Fellow with the American Academy of Physician Assistants. In his limited free time he spends it with his growing family, and plans to travel again in the future.
