The Michael R Boh Center for Child Development is pleased to announce our new family-centered, multi-disciplinary Autism Assessment Clinic. This clinic is designed to assess children ages 2 – 4 years of age for suspected Autism Spectrum Disorder using evidence-based assessment tools from multiple disciplines of child development. The child will be seen by a team of specialists on the day of their visit. The multi-disciplinary team will consist of a medical developmental specialist, a psychologist, a speech pathologist, and a social worker, allowing for a comprehensive evaluation. Guardians are important member of team providing essential information to the physicians and participating in the assessment The team will review developmental and family history prior to the visit, and then interview guardians about their child’s development, language skills, play skills, social skills, and behaviors while also directly interacting with the child. After the evaluation is complete, the results will be shared with the family along with tailored recommendations to support the child’s development. In addition to the tailored treatment recommendations, our social worker will assist families in connecting with resources to follow through on the recommendations.
