To support the needs of every individual on the Ochsner team, resource groups represent key interests across our organization. Ochsner Resource Groups are voluntary, employee-led groups that focus on the patient experience, community outreach, mentoring, recruitment and education. Each group is open to all Ochsner employees, no matter the identity.
ABLE - African Americans Building & Leading Equity: The mission of ABLE is to be a resource and support in promoting affiliated councils to advance diversity and inclusion by transforming our workplaces and communities into inclusive environments; where individuals are valued for their talents and empowered to reach their fullest potential.
Asian American Innovation Movement (AAIM): The mission and vision is to improve the overall well-being and quality of life for patients and employees of the Asian community by promoting synergies through celebrating the individual uniqueness of Asian American and Pacific Islander cultures.
Exceptional Abilities: The mission and vision is to promote the inclusion and acceptance of people with exceptional abilities by providing advocacy and education on disability awareness to improve the well-being and overall quality of work and life of our employees and their families with exceptional abilities by identifying opportunities to create a more inclusive environment.
Globally Linked Ochsner Belonging & Engagement (GLOBE): The mission of GLOBE is to provide a platform for empowerment, mentorship, and networking for all employees from diverse cultures and nationalities that desire optimal representation. GLOBE will empower Ochsner’s international employees to expand their social and professional network in a safe space that celebrates authenticity and individuality by encouraging meaningful conversations, creating a sense of belonging and fostering cultural awareness, and celebrating the unique observances and experiences of all Ochsner’s employees and patients.
Hispanics at Ochsner Leading & Advocating (HOLA) is a diverse group of Ochsner employees that advocates for, leads, collaborates and partners with individuals and other groups inside and outside of our health system, that share the HOLA mission and vision. HOLA recognizes the value of diversity and inclusion and the needs of its employee members and the community it serves.
PRIDE (People, Resources, Inclusiveness, Diversity, Education): Ochsner PRIDE will work to promote an inclusive community for LGBTQ employees, patients and clients. Ochsner PRIDE will support efforts to diversify employees, physicians, staff and faculty and will work to recruit and retain LGBTQ identified employees.
Resourceful Experienced Team Rises at Ochsner (RETRO): represents a diverse and dynamic population of Ochsner employees that advocates for, and empowers, Generation X and above individuals, not only within Ochsner but throughout the community. Through meaningful partnerships and collaborations, RETRO leverages the unique strengths of older individuals to bolster Ochsner’s internal make-up and outreach efforts.
VET FORCE 1 (Military/Veterans) will be a unified community of volunteers that improves the patient healthcare experience by strengthening Ochsner's workforce and improving the care of our veterans patients. We will achieve this vision through matching military experienced coordination between the VA and Ochsner, recognizing our veteran patients and employees, and creating a supportive network for them.
WoW (Women empowering Women): The mission and vision of WoW is to cultivate an inclusive environment that supports and encourages women to advance their skills and potential through connection, mentorship, collaboration, and discussion. This group is open to all members of the Ochsner community.
YPA (Young Professionals Association): The mission of the Young Professionals Association is to attract, support, retain, develop and connect young talent. The group shall serve as an avenue for young professionals to become successful individually and within the organization, while creating a sense that Ochsner is a place of work where they want to stay.
