Biography

Jafar Alsaid, MD, specializes in nephrology at Ochsner Health. Dr. Alsaid received his medical degree from University of Baghdad Medical College in 1989. He completed his internship and residency at the American University of Beirut. His first nephrology fellowship is from American University of Beirut and a second nephrology fellowship from Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta. He had been practicing nephrology for over 25 years. Dr. Alsaid joined Ochsner in 2021. He holds an assistant professor academic title at the University of Queensland. His main expertise is hypertension clinical nephrology, hemodialysis, interventional nephrology and renal ultrasound. His research interests includes cardiovascular risk factors, specifically hypertension among chronic kidney disease patients and hemodialysis infection control.
