Dr. Jeffrey Nathaniel Watkins received his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in 2010. He completed one year of internal medicine internship at Howard University Hospital in Washington, D.C. before returning to UT Southwestern for residency training. He completed specialty training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) and also completed a Brain Injury Fellowship. He is board-certified in both PM&R and Brain Injury Medicine.

Dr. Watkins moved to New Orleans in 2018 where he joined Ochsner Health Center. He is currently on staff at the Ochsner Select Inpatient Rehabilitation Hospital on Jefferson Highway. He specializes in neurorehabilitation and treats patients with multiple different conditions including stroke, traumatic brain injuries, adult cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis and spinal cord injury.

Dr. Watkins also holds clinic in the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Department at the Ochsner Elmwood location for evaluations of patients for durable medical equipment and wheelchair mobility, therapy evaluations and management of spasticity (including treatments with Botox, aqueous phenol, and intrathecal baclofen). He is also participates in the concussion clinic and evaluates patients who have suffered from acute or subacute concussions (mostly non-sports related).
