Dr. Osvaldo A. Camilo received his medical degree with the academic honor cum laude from Universidad Autonoma de Santo Domingo (UASD) in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic in 1986. He went on to complete his internship at The Graduate Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and neurology residency at State University of New York at Stony Brook in New York. He completed an Epilepsy fellowship at University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and a Cerebrovascular Disease fellowship at Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC

Dr. Camilo is board-certified by the American Board of Neurology of Psychiatry and has been on staff at Ochsner since 2017 and practicing medicine since 1986. As a faculty member of the neurology department and comprehensive stroke center at Ochsner main campus, Dr. Camilo actively participates in the teaching of neurology residents, fellows and medical students. He has a special clinical interest in evidence-based management of neurological disorders in general and particularly in the acute management of cerebrovascular diseases and neurological emergencies. Dr. Camilo enjoys listening to music and reading world history in his free time.
