Excellent doctor to patient care. Truly showed empathy in regards to my individual situation. Dr. Duaterive displayed professional knowledge and courtesy while listening to me explain what I had to say all the while explaining what course of action that I needed to take to help myself.

From start to finish I received excellent service from all the staff, especially from my Doctor, Rachel Dauterive, MD. She is so compassionate and concerned about every area of your life that's concerns your health. She listens to you and ask any questions about your health and family.

I started two months prior to seeing Dr. Dauterive on Ozempic for weight loss. I had lost 20 pounds before I saw her for my first appointment. (My previous weight is in my Ochsner chart and that loss can be proven.) My PCP got me started since I had to wait 2 months to get into Bariatrics because they were booked. I liked the process at the Bariatrics dept when I finally got in. Dr. Dauterive’s nurse was very nice and encouraging. She congratulated me for losing the first 20 pounds. I felt good about that. The information from the In Body Scale was tremendous. Dr. Dauterive is nice. She came off as being encouraging but guarded. I think she wants to let everyone know it’s not easy no matter what medication you are given to lose weight, in the end you will gain some back. I respect that and I totally expect that I could if I do not keep up using portion control as I had decided this would be the way I finally lose and keep it off. I plan not let myself gain back a monumental amount but to level out at a healthy weight and stay that way. But I do want to have someone cheer me on and make me feel good about what I’ve lost. Keeping my spirit up and having emotional plus medical weight loss support is necessary for continued weight loss.
