Maria Sylvester Terry, MS
Social Media Manager
Maria Sylvester Terry is the Social Media Manager for Eat Fit. With a unique background in the humanities and nutrition science, she is focused on one mission: keep nutrition simple and uncomplicated! Formerly a secondary English teacher and instructional coach, Maria applied her skills as an educator to her passion for nutrition. Between 2016 and 2019, she embarked upon a career change to become a registered dietitian nutritionist. In that brief period, she completed her MS in Nutrition at Drexel University, presented her sports nutrition research at the American College of Sports Medicine annual meeting, and provided nutrition and culinary education in Philadelphia public schools. Maria, her husband Caleb, and their two dogs moved from Philadelphia to New Orleans this past year for the final step in her journey, a dietetic internship through Tulane University. She is an avid member of Krewe du CrossFit and loves running through City Park. She'll never turn down a cup of coffee. To Maria, the most important role a dietitian can play in one’s life is educating others to see beyond the black-and-white food rules and embrace a big-picture concept of health.
