Due to COVID-19 and in the interest of the health and safety of our community, we have decided to reformat our 2021 in-person special events to a virtual format. Funds for cardiology and neuroscience programs will be generated through a series of premium raffles and for the second time, the Moonlight & Miracles Gala will be broadcast on Fox 8-WVUE, benefitting Ochsner oncology patients and families.
The generosity of our donors creates incredible opportunities not available through other sources and inspires innovation in education and research. For 2021 Special Philanthropy Event sponsorship opportunities, please click here. For more information on ways to support, please contact Special Events at specialevents@ochsner.org.
Thank you for your confidence in Ochsner. We hope to see you virtually at our 2021 Philanthropy events!

The Benefactor Dinner celebrates the loyal and generous members of the Benefactor and Heritage societies each year through a special dinner and presentation. All donors at the Councilor level of giving ($5,000+) are invited to join us as we induct the newest members of the Benefactor and Heritage Societies. The Benefactor Society recognizes donors who have given $25,000 or more and the Heritage Society recognizes all donors who have included Ochsner Health in their estate plans. While our 2020 celebration could not be held in person, we gratefully recognize the Benefactor Class of 2020 for their generosity.

The Ochsner Neuroscience Institute has changed the course of neuroscience care in the Gulf South Region. As the only neuroscience institute of its kind in the Gulf South to be nationally ranked by the U.S. News & World Report for the ninth year in a row, the world class clinicians, researchers, and educators of the Ochsner Neuroscience Institute offer advanced specialty care and life-saving procedures.
Ochsner created Colors of the Mind three years ago to generate revenue for the Neuroscience Patient Assistance Fund. The fund helps patients and caregivers defray expenses associated with a long term or critical illness. Colors of the Mind will also benefit programs such as the Neuroscience Innovation Fund which allows clinicians access to the tools to provide cutting-edge care to patients. This year’s Colors of the Mind will take place through a raffle of a 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe, valued at $65,000. Tickets for the raffle will be $100 each, and will open soon! The winning ticket will be drawn on Saturday, September 25, 2021. Check back soon for more information on purchasing tickets and other ways to support the Ochsner Neuroscience Institute.

Since Dr. Alton Ochsner made the connection between tobacco use and lung cancer in 1939, Ochsner Health has remained one of the leading comprehensive destinations for cancer care across a multi-state region. The Ochsner Cancer Institute delivers compassionate, personalized care using advanced technology and treatment options such as precision therapies and early tumor detection programs. Ochsner has the largest clinical trials network in Louisiana so that patients do not have to leave the state for high quality cancer care. Ochsner’s goal is to conduct 141,000 total additional cancer screenings in the next two years.
Thanks to the generosity of Gayle and Tom Benson, the Ochsner Cancer Institute now offers supportive services such as nutrition, acupuncture, psycho social and genetic counseling provided by a team that specializes in caring for oncology patients.
Since 2013, Moonlight & Miracles Gala has generated much needed funds to directly benefit Ochsner Cancer Institute patients and programs at comprehensive cancer centers, located throughout New Orleans, Baton Rouge and the Northshore. For the second year in a row, the ninth annual Moonlight and Miracles will be broadcast live on WVUE-Fox 8 in early November 2021. Additionally, the annual Mercedes-Benz Car Raffle will feature a blue 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLC, valued at $48,000. Tickets for the raffle will be $100 each, and will open soon!
