Supporting Ochsner Employees

During times of crisis, the Ochsner Employee Assistance Fund stands at the ready to offer crucial support to employees in need through financial grants. In the past, these times have included natural disasters, fires, the COVID-19 pandemic and medical emergencies. The wellbeing of our employees is so crucial. Donors to the Employee Assistance Fund ensure timely resources are available when employees need it most. In 2022, more than 100 employees received assistance thanks to the generosity of donors.

My name is Susan Meaux. I work for Ochsner CHRISTUS Health Center as an HIM Document Imaging Technician Administration. I would like to thank the donors to the Employee Assistance Fund for helping me out during Hurricane Laura and Hurricane Delta. I really don’t know where I would be if it weren’t for them. I worked for a company for 24 ½ years and never saw anything like this before. I have never worked for a company that takes care of and supports it’s employees like Ochsner. We are not a number. Everyone addresses everyone by their name. Ochsner is truly concerned about their employees and is a really great place to work. Your gift to the Employee Assistance Fund will not be used anywhere else but for the employees in a time of need. Based on my experience as an employee of only about three months (at the time of the hurricanes), I received help from the Employee Assistance Fund. With all the banks closed, I had no cash on hand. With the help of the Employee Assistance Fund, the stress level was lifted some. I knew I would be able to get some of the things I needed to survive until the electricity was turned back on. I would like to thank everyone that has given to the Employee Assistance Fund.
