Visiting Hours

Visitation is available 24 hours a day for COVID-19 negative patients. All children must be accompanied by an adult. In the interest of patient safety, people who are ill should not visit patients. Patients who are positive for COVID-19 will be allowed no more than two visitors per day between the hours of 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. Visitors must remain in the patient’s room at all times.

Ochsner Baptist's campus has many open areas to serve as a waiting or resting area.

The Clara Wing has a large, spacious family waiting room on the 3rd floor. This waiting room has access to free Wi-FI, a flat screen TV and a comfortable seating area.

The Clara Lobby is a welcoming space for visitors near our café, with ample seating, free Wi-Fi and a grand piano.

The surgery waiting room at Ochsner Baptist is available on the first floor of the Magnolia Building.

Volunteer Services

At Ochsner Health, volunteers are an integral part of the service system. There are volunteer opportunities available to assist with patient and non-patient needs in a professional atmosphere throughout the institution.

Volunteer shifts are flexible, with morning and afternoon times available to match most schedules. Volunteer benefits include free parking, discounts at campus restaurants and gift shops and the use of Ochsner's medical library. Attendance at many of Ochsner's educational workshops and events are also offered.

Additionally, active volunteers who work four hours or more daily are provided complimentary meals.
