Ochsner Health is the leading nonprofit healthcare provider in the Gulf South. Ochsner inspires healthier lives and stronger communities through our mission to serve, heal, lead, educate and innovate.
Scheduled to open in late 2026, the Debra H. and Robert J. Patrick Neuroscience Institute will bring Ochsner Health’s nationally recognized neuroscience programs together in one 132,000-square-foot facility, creating a seamless, patient-centered experience. By integrating comprehensive outpatient neuroscience care, behavioral health services, integrative therapies and advanced rehabilitation under one roof, Ochsner is establishing a premier destination for neurological care in the Gulf South. The $120 million investment will expand access to leading-edge treatment and make the institute the only neuroscience facility of its kind between Houston and Atlanta, positioning Ochsner to serve more patients across the region with the most advanced, coordinated care.

Ashley Franklin Keene was only in her early 40s when a blood clot in her brain and blockages in her carotid artery caused her to suffer a stroke. Ashley was flown from Jena, LA to Ochsner Medical Center – New Orleans for emergency surgery, where she was discharged only four days later.
Ashley says, "I was walking at Ochsner two days after my stroke and eating the next day and I started talking two months later. Now I walk and talk and play piano every day. I'm trying and improving every day. I have a different purpose now and I want to encourage others who have had strokes to take it one day at a time."
