Creating career pathways for students with disabilities

During the 2024–2025 program year, Ochsner Rush continued hosting Project SEARCH, offering students with intellectual and developmental disabilities immersive, real-world training in hospital departments, preparing them for competitive employment and long-term success.

Learning through play

Ochsner Rush Health proudly sponsored the 5th Annual Science Saturday at the Mississippi Children’s Museum
in Meridian. As part of the statewide Mississippi Science Festival, Ochsner clinicians hosted a hands-on Teddy Bear Clinic, helping children learn about doctor visits and wellness in a playful, comforting way.

Supporting at-risk youth

Project Inspire is a semester-long, hospital-based injury prevention program aiming to reduce violence among at-risk youth by combining trauma center exposure, mentorship and career development. Through an ongoing partnership with the Meridian Youth Court, local juvenile offenders gain unique insight into the consequences of gun violence through tours of Ochsner Rush Health’s trauma services. They will also receive Stop the Bleed® training and participate in community service projects and career planning activities.
