Celebrating National Job Shadowing Day, a group of sophomores from Neville and Wossman high schools and Richland Parish toured Ochsner LSU Health – Monroe Medical Center, through the ULM TRiO Educational Talent Search Program. Hospital staff spoke to students about programs and departments like nursing, tobacco cessation, pharmacy, radiology and imaging, lab and pathology, and Ochsner Opportunities. Students had the chance to shadow several departments.
Holy Angels and Ochsner LSU Health have joined forces to bring a new gift shop to Ochsner LSU Health – St. Mary Medical Center in Shreveport: the Holy Angels – Ochsner LSU Health Gift Shop! This partnership not only provides customers with delicious treats and unique gifts but also creates employment opportunities for individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities.
Stop the Bleed, a rural trauma or intellectual disabilities. development and fall prevention training program, and Sudden Impact, a program designed to prevent distracted and impaired driving, were presented by Ochsner LSU Health to 10th graders at various high schools in Monroe and Shreveport.
Inviting children with diabetes and their families to an educational and supportive program with healthcare professionals, Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport hosted a lunch-and-learn about diabetes in children.
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Ochsner LSU Health Monroe held its fifth Annual Breast Cancer Survivor and Memorial Walk in October 2024.
