At Ochsner Health, we believe that our patients and guests deserve a safe and respectful environment, and we expect the same in return. We ask that you please choose kindness and respect our team, as we will do the same for you. Providing a compassionate environment is our top priority and we are committed to delivering high-quality healthcare and creating a healing space for our communities. We expect all of our spaces to be safe, caring and inclusive.
We maintain a zero tolerance policy towards disrespectful, racist, discriminatory, hostile, or harassing words or actions, as outlined through our Patient & Guest Code of Conduct. These behaviors are not welcome and interfere with the care of you and others.
Unacceptable behavior that will be reported includes (but is not limited to) threat of and/or bullying, hitting, kicking, pushing, threats, verbal abuse, yelling, spitting, stalking, and bringing weapons onto our campus.
If we believe that you have violated our Patient & Guest Code of Conduct with unwelcome words or actions (including those that are electronic, verbal, or written), we will fully review the situation, on a case-by-case basis, before making any decisions regarding your future care at Ochsner Health.
Violations of this code may result in one or more of the following actions:
• Patient or guest being asked to seek care elsewhere
• Patient or guest being required to follow behavioral contracts while still receiving ongoing care
• Patient or guest being dismissed from future non-emergency care at any Ochsner facility
• Patient or guest potentially escorted off premise or faced with criminal charges
If you witness or are the target of any of these behaviors, please report it to a member of your care team.
