Lymphovenous Anastomosis (LVA): This procedure involves connecting lymphatic vessels to small veins, allowing lymphatic fluid to drain directly into the bloodstream.
Vascularized Lymph Node Transfer (VLNT): Healthy lymph nodes from another part of the body are transplanted into the affected area to improve lymphatic drainage.

Coverage often depends on the presence of symptoms like rashes or skin irritation caused by the excess skin. However, insurance does not cover a traditional cosmetic tummy tuck. A tummy tuck includes both skin removal and repairing the abdominal wall muscles, which can be affected by weight changes or pregnancy.

Liposuction results can last for a long time if a patient maintains a stable weight.

Can you gain weight in areas where liposuction has been performed?
Yes, it’s possible to gain weight in those areas. While the fat cells removed during liposuction do not regenerate, not all fat cells are removed from the treated area. The remaining fat cells can still grow larger if weight fluctuates.

Our team is available 24/7 to support you. During business hours, you can reach our nursing staff by phone or through MyChart. After hours, our plastic surgery staff can be contacted by calling the main hospital number at 504-842-3000 and requesting the plastic surgeon on call.
