Ochsner Health is proud to have partnered with Shell Oil Company on establishing Ochsner Health as a Cardiac Center of Excellence as part of The Centers of Excellence Program for adult and pediatric cardiovascular care.
The Centers of Excellence (COE) Program for adult and pediatric cardiovascular care was established to provide cardiovascular services to Shell Oil Company employees, their dependents (0-18 years of age and 18 years or older) and retirees who have Shell US Benefits with United Healthcare (UHC) Choice Plus as their insurance.
Who is Eligible for the Shell COE Program?
Shell employees, and their covered dependents (ages 0-18 and 18 and older) and retirees* who have selected Shell US Benefits with United Healthcare (UHC) Choice Plus as their insurance.
* Medicare eligible members are excluded from this program.
* Retirees who are Medicare eligible age do not qualify for the program.
Shell offers two UHC benefit plans for its employees to access the COE Program:
- Preferred Provider Organization (PPO)
- Members participating in this plan have no member cost share. Shell will pay 100% of eligible covered services and those members will have no copayments, coinsurance or deductibles (member cost share), when following COE Program and UHC guidelines.
- High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP)
- Members participating in this plan are subject to member cost share. Shell will pay 100% of covered services after member has satisfied all deductible obligations (member cost share), when following COE Program and UHC guidelines.
