Biography
Dr. Habashy has been in clinical practice since 2019 and joined Ochsner Health as an attending orthopedic surgeon in 2022. His clinical interests include shoulder and knee arthroscopy, fracture care and joint replacement of the hip, knee and shoulder. He has a particular focus on direct anterior hip replacement, a muscle-sparing approach to total hip arthroplasty that may allow for faster recovery, improved early function and reduced postoperative restrictions when compared with traditional approaches.
Dr. Habashy also performs robotic-assisted partial and total knee replacement using Mako technology, which allows for advanced preoperative planning and precise implant positioning tailored to each patient’s anatomy. In addition to joint replacement, he routinely treats a wide range of orthopedic conditions affecting both active individuals and patients with degenerative joint disease.
He emphasizes individualized treatment plans, clear communication and helping patients return to the activities that matter most to them. Dr. Habashy is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Louisiana Orthopaedic Association.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Habashy is a proud husband to a fellow Ochsner surgeon and a father of three sons.
