Alexis Fox specializes in cancer genetics at Ochsner MD Anderson Cancer Center. She is a New Orleans native and received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Our Lady of the Lake College in Baton Rouge. After working in the intensive care unit at Ochsner Medical Center - Kenner, she began her family nurse practitioner studies at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, where she earned her degree as a Doctor of Nursing Practice, served as Vice-President of her class, and was inducted into the Epsilon Nu Chapter of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. Alexis is board-certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Family Nurse Practitioner and has been on staff with Ochsner Health as a nurse practitioner since 2018. She is an Advanced Oncology-Certified Nurse Practitioner through the Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation, is certified in Cancer Genetic Risk Assessment by the National Consortium of Breast Centers, and completed City of Hope's Intensive Course in Genetic Cancer Risk Assessment. She has special interest in hereditary cancer syndromes and cancer risk assessment and is committed to providing up-to-date, compassionate care to her patients.
