Biography
Dr. Archana Rao Paine earned her medical degree in 2002 from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 2006 from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans as well. She is board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Following Hurricane Katrina, Dr. Paine stayed in her hometown of New Orleans to continue to practice medicine and help rebuild her city. She was in private practice in the New Orleans area for 10 years before joining Ochsner Women's Services in 2016. She sees patients in the office both Uptown at Ochsner Baptist as well as in Metairie on Clearview Parkway.
Dr. Paine's interests include routine obstetric care and advanced gynecologic surgery. She has special interest and expertise in advanced hysteroscopic and laparoscopic surgery, including da Vinci robotic hysterectomies as well as da Vinci robotic myomectomies for the treatment of uterine fibroids.
Dr. Paine enjoys spending time with her family, including her husband and 2 daughters as well as travelling, art and New Orleans culture.

I love Dr. Paines calm demeanor and careful explanation of what to expect during the whole encounter. When she asked what questions I had, I like most patients said none but instead of just moving on she still stopped to explain everything in grave detail. Clearly has the ability to read the patient and meet them where they are. Much appreciated!
