A native of Bowling Green, KY, Brian A. Moore, MD, FACS, earned both his Bachelor of Arts in History and Doctorate of Medicine from Tulane University. After finishing a residency in Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at Vanderbilt University, he completed a two-year fellowship in Head and Neck Surgical Oncology and Reconstruction at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. Dr. Moore has been certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology since 2004.
Dr. Moore then served the United States Air Force as Chief of Surgery at Eglin Air Force Base, FL, where he attained the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Following his honorable discharge, Dr. Moore joined Ochsner Medical Center in 2011 as the Director of Head and Neck Surgery in the Department of Otolaryngology. He is currently Chairman of Otorhinolaryngology and Communication Sciences for Ochsner Health System.
He has published multiple papers in the peer-reviewed literature, as well numerous book chapters and invited articles focusing on advanced cutaneous malignancy, functional outcomes of head and neck reconstruction, and contemporary treatment of head and neck cancer. Along with Randal Weber, MD, he co-edited the definitive textbook on skin cancer of the head and neck, Cutaneous Malignancy of the Head and Neck: A Multidisciplinary Approach.
His clinical interests include benign and malignant tumors of the upper aerodigestive tract, minimally invasive surgery (including both transoral robotic surgery and transoral laser surgery), advanced skin cancer, salivary gland disorders, and thyroid/parathyroid disorders.
