Dr. Smith received his medical degree from Kansas City University of Medicine in 2014. He went on to complete his General Surgery internship and residency at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center in Spartanburg, SC. He completed his fellowship in Plastic Surgery at the combined Tulane University/Ochsner Clinic Program. Here, he received extensive training in implant based and microsurgical breast reconstruction.

Dr. Smith is board eligible in Plastic Surgery and is board certified in General Surgery by the American Board of Surgery. He started on staff at Ochsner in 2022. Dr. Smith performs the full range of breast reconstruction including implant based, flap reconstruction, and revision procedures. He also performs general reconstructive surgery and aesthetic surgery. He has a special clinical interest in extremity reconstruction from cancer surgery or trauma. Dr. Smith enjoys New Orleans' many festivals and restaurants in his free time.
