Biography

Dr. Schoolfield attended medical school at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. He completed his residency at LSU Health - Shreveport, and his fellowship at George Washington University Hospital. In his own words:I provide a wide range of general surgery and minimally invasive procedures. I am fellowship trained in advanced laparoscopic and robotic procedures including foregut surgery (hiatal hernias, reflux disease, achalasia, median arcuate ligament syndrome, gastric cancers), colo-rectal surgery, small bowel disease, complex hernias and adrenal surgery.My goal is to provide all patients with quality surgical care while ensuring they have a better understanding of their disease process and how surgery may benefit them. I hope that after my consultation, patients will be able to make informed decisions regarding their care choices, having gained a clear understanding of the proposed intervention's benefits, risks, alternatives and expectations.
