Elliot J. Scott, MD, is a board-certified endocrine surgeon at Ochsner Health who is dedicated to treating patients in Raceland, New Orleans and Kenner, Louisiana. He specializes in endocrine surgical oncology, general surgery and endocrine surgery, with expertise in complex conditions of the thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal glands, including thyroid cancer, thyroid nodules, goiter, Graves’ disease, hyperparathyroidism and adrenal tumors. He performs advanced procedures such as thyroidectomy, parathyroidectomy and adrenalectomy, utilizing minimally invasive techniques when possible, to support faster recovery and improved outcomes. His patient-centered approach ensures each treatment plan is tailored to the individual’s needs and overall health.

Dr. Scott received his Doctor of Medicine degree from Louisiana State University - New Orleans. He completed residency in general surgery at Virginia Mason in Seattle, Washington and fellowship in endocrine surgery at Mt. Sinai in New York City. Dr. Scott is a member of the American Association of Endocrine Surgeons and is both board certified in general surgery and holds a focused practice designation in adult complex thyroid and parathyroid surgery from the American Board of Surgery.

Dr. Scott grew up in Abbeville, just south of Lafayette, where he spent summers working on a farm before attending college. He now lives in New Orleans and enjoys traveling, walking and biking around the city, and exploring its food scene.
