Jishna Shrestha, MD, specializes in infectious disease medicine at Ochsner Health. Dr. Jishna Shrestha is a board-certified internal medicine physician with specialized training in infectious diseases. She earned her medical degree from Kathmandu Medical College in Nepal and completed her residency at Northwestern Medicine McHenry Hospital/Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University. She pursued a fellowship in infectious diseases at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.

Dr. Shrestha’s specializes in general infectious diseases with a focus on tropical medicine and global health, immunocompromised host infections and travel medicine. She is a member of the American College of Physicians and the Infectious Diseases Society of America.

She takes a patient-centered, multidisciplinary approach to care and is now seeing patients at Ochsner Lafayette General. Dr. Shrestha is currently accepting new patients and referrals.

Fluent in English and Nepali, Dr. Shrestha enjoys cooking, gardening, hiking, traveling and watching soccer, especially as a devoted Liverpool FC fan.
