Biography

Jonathan Westerveld, DPM, is a surgically trained podiatrist specializing in reconstruction of the foot and ankle, with clinical interests in foot and ankle trauma, Charcot reconstruction, diabetic limb salvage, and complex wound management.

Dr. Westerveld's approach to surgery is centered on restoring function, not just repairing injury. He works to help patients regain mobility and independence and return to the activities that matter to them, combining careful evaluation with advanced techniques to build a treatment plan tailored to each patient's needs and goals.

He earned his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine from Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine in Independence, Ohio, in 2023, graduating as class valedictorian. He completed his Podiatric Medicine and Surgery residency at Eastern Virginia Medical School (now part of Old Dominion University), in Norfolk, Virginia, with extensive training in foot and ankle trauma and reconstruction, diabetic limb salvage and lower extremity plastics techniques.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Westerveld enjoys cooking, woodworking, hiking, spending time outdoors and playing pickleball.
