Dr. Shahid received his undergraduate and medical degree from Aga Khan University in Karachi, Pakistan. Following this, he completed his internship and residency in internal medicine and pediatrics at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center (Shreveport). He also completed his fellowship in hematology and oncology at the same location.

Dr. Shahid joined Ochsner in July 2020; he has been practicing medicine since 2016. Dr. Shahid came to Ochsner from the University of Texas Health North Campus Tyler - MD Anderson Cancer Center, where he was an assistant professor of hematology and oncology, an Oncology Survivorship Champion Physician representing medical oncology and a principal investigator for a wide variety of research trials. He has a special interest in treating solid tumors and hematological malignancies.
