Biography

Dr. Kathryn Oubre specializes in pediatrics at Ochsner Health. Dr. Oubre graduated from Louisiana State University summa cum laude in 2001, with a bachelor's degree in microbiology and a minor in psychology. She graduated from LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans, in 2005. She completed a Pediatrics Residency at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, in 2008. Dr. Oubre joined the United States Air Force in 2001, after being inspired by 9/11, and she worked as a pediatrician for the USAF at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi, from 2008 to 2011. She has worked in general pediatrics for the past 15 years and joined the Ochsner Northshore pediatrics team full time in 2014. She met her husband Dr. John Oubre in medical school at LSU. They have been married for almost 20 years and have three children. Her husband works in primary care in Covington, Louisiana. Dr. Oubre enjoys taking care of the medical needs of our Northshore children and watching them grow into healthy, happy, adults!

We absolutely love Dr. Oubre. We were previously at another very popular practice and felt like just a number, would only be in the room for 2 minutes with the provider, and no one actually took the time to get to know us. Dr. Oubre is the opposite, and we tell everyone how impressed we are at her attention to detail and helping us get to the bottom of issues that we have. She is excellent at referring us to the right providers also if we need to see a specialist.

We love Dr.Oubre she truly cares for her Patients and I feel like my children are her number one priority, even though I know she has a schedule full of patients. Dr.Oubre Is very thorough and answers all my questions I have. Dr.Oubre Is an amazing doctor and we are so lucky to have her as a doctor for our 2 boys. She has been with them both since birth and has been Incredibly Outstanding.

Always very professional and caring. Does not rush to complete visit but takes her time to hear you thoroughly, I wouldn't go anywhere else for care Other than Dr Oubre. She is amazing!
