Kevin Lynch, MD, specializes in bariatric and weight-loss surgery at Ochsner Health. Originally from North Carolina, Dr. Lynch developed an interest in bariatric surgery after witnessing its life-changing impact on patients and their families while working as a general surgery resident at the University of Virginia. This experience inspired him to pursue fellowship training in bariatric surgery as well as minimally invasive gastrointestinal surgery at Duke University, a national leader in bariatric care. His training included laparoscopic and robotic surgical techniques, with a focus on gastric sleeve, gastric bypass, single-anastomosis duodenal-ileostomy (SADI) and duodenal switch (BDP-DS).
