Maria Medina-Whitfield, LCSW

I have over 20 years experience in the field of social work and have a diverse background including Family Services of GNO for my internship, DePaul's Psychiatric Hospital in my early years as well as most recently, in private practice. My approach is research based Cognitive Behavior Therapy that is been proven to make a difference.

Having someone to talk to who is an experienced, licensed professional and who is nonjudgmental, accepting of who we are at the moment, can help us navigate through the stresses of life and get us back on the right path to achieving our fullest potential. I have extensive experience in working with adults, children and teens who have experienced grief and loss, trauma, and sexual abuse.

Therapy is a collaborative experience between the client and the therapist. Together we can explore new strategies and coping skills, and actively engage in enlisting your own innate resiliency to be healthy again.
