Dr. Ray earned her medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine, completed her medical internship at Ochsner Foundation Hospital and her dermatology residency at Tulane University in New Orleans. She also completed a dermatology fellowship with the American Cancer Society at Tulane and a fellowship in immunodermatology with the National Institutes of Health at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center at Dallas.
Dr. Ray holds clinical associate professorships in dermatology at the Tulane and LSU medical schools. She is consistently listed as a top doctor in New Orleans and Louisiana Life magazines, and has been recognized by U.S. News and World Report as one of the top dermatologists in America. In addition, she is a past president of the Louisiana Dermatological Society and previous Chairperson of the Dermatology Section of the Southern Medical Association. She was secretary treasurer of the Zola Cooper dermatopatholgy seminar and is currently on the board. Current memberships include the American Academy of Dermatology and the North American Contact Dermatitis Society.
