Oleitha Wilson-Ruffin, MD

Dr. Wilson-Ruffin received her undergraduate degree from Xavier University in New Orleans and her medical degree from LSU Health Sciences Center (LSUHSC) in Shreveport, Louisiana. Following this, she completed her internship and residency at LSUHSC/Children's Hospital in New Orleans.

Dr. Wilson-Ruffin is board certified by the American Academy of Pediatrics and joined the Ochsner staff in December 2019. Dr. Wilson-Ruffin has practiced pediatrics since 2003, and focuses on total healthcare of infants and children. She enjoys reading and spending time with her family.

Dr Ruffin is amazing. She comes in not rushed or trying to just get done. She takes her time focusing on the child and calming any fears they may have. She took her time with my grand daughter talking to her about how she felt and what needed to be done. She needed a strep test which made her very anxious. Dr Ruffin spoke on everything that she was going to and showed all what would be used. Normally the nurse has done these but Dr Ruffin did it herself talking Skye through the entire thing. Skye did great. Dr Ruffin is a true asset to Westside Peds.

Dr. Wilson - Ruffin is professional and caring. She was great with my newborn and did what she could to relieve my sons pain as he had an infected ingrown toenail and the podiatrist wouldn’t see him because of his age. I definitely recommend her!

Dr. Wilson-Ruffin is super honest and relatable. My son is 4 years old and although it’s not often we see her it makes me feel good to say she’s his primary Dr. We receive excellent treatment every-time.
