Peggy Jo (PJ) Alker was born and raised in New Orleans, LA. She earned a Master of Science in Nursing Degree from Loyola University New Orleans. She has been board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners since 2003. She has a strong cardiac nursing background and initially worked in Baton Rouge as a cardiac nurse practitioner. After working there for several years, she changed her path to hematology/oncology in 2007. She joined the Ochsner team in 2016 after moving back to her hometown. PJ has a clinical interest in breast and genitourinary cancers. She also sees patients in High-Risk Breast Clinic and Oncology Urgent Care Clinic.
