Peggy Jo (PJ) Alker specializes in medical oncology at Ochsner MD Anderson Cancer Center. PJ Alker was born and raised in New Orleans. She earned a master of science in nursing degree from Loyola University New Orleans. She has been board-certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners since 2003. She has a strong cardiac nursing background and initially worked in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, as a cardiac nurse practitioner. After working there for several years, she changed her path to hematology oncology in 2007. She joined the Ochsner team in 2016, after moving back to her hometown. PJ has a clinical interest in high-risk and breast cancer. She is the lead advanced practice provider in the High-Risk Breast Clinic and Oncology Urgent Care Clinic.
