Pernell Simon, MD, practices family medicine at Ochsner Health. Dr. Simon, a native of Abbeville, Louisiana, has been serving families with dedication and warmth for decades. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Southwestern Louisiana in 1988 and completed his medical degree at Louisiana State University School of Medicine in 1992. He went on to finish his family practice residency in Shreveport in 1995.


As a family physician, Dr. Simon believes in building lasting relationships with his patients, treating them as part of his extended family. He finds great joy in caring for others and considers it a privilege to support the health and well-being of the community he serves. His work never feels like a job, but rather a lifelong calling he hopes to continue for many years to come.


He and his wife, Pamela, have raised four sons and now enjoy spending time with their growing family. In his free time, Dr. Simon enjoys playing tennis and golf, gardening and relaxing at home with his grandchildren.
