Biography
Rachael earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Loyola University New Orleans and is board-certified as an adult-gerontology acute care nurse practitioner through the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses. She has dedicated her career to caring for patients with leukemia and lymphoma, beginning at The Johns Hopkins Hospital before transitioning to oncology clinical research at Ochsner Health. As supervisor of Late Phase Oncology Research, she led a rapidly growing clinical trials program that significantly expanded patient enrollment while increasing access to innovative therapies. Today, she divides her time between caring for patients as a nurse practitioner and teaching future acute care nurse practitioners as full-time faculty at Loyola University New Orleans.
Outside of medicine, Rachael enjoys running, cycling, baking sourdough and reading. She lives in New Orleans with her husband and their Old English Sheepdog, where they love the city's music, culture and sense of community.
