Dr. Samy Abdelghani is a New Orleans native and received his undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering from Tulane University. He completed medical school at the Tulane University School of Medicine, Internal Medicine Residency at the University of California - Irvine, and Cardiology Fellowship at the John Ochsner Heart & Vascular Institute, where he served as chief fellow. Dr. Abdelghani is Board Certified in Cardiology, Internal Medicine, Nuclear Cardiology & Echocardiography and has been on staff at Ochsner since 2015 and practicing medicine since 2012. He is a diplomate of the National Board of Echocardiography, a diplomate of the Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology, and a fellow of the American College of Cardiology. Dr. Abdelghani's expertise is in non-invasive imaging, preventative cardiology, transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography, nuclear imaging, stress testing, valvular heart disease, hypertension, congestive heart failure, and ischemic heart disease.
