Saul Morales Valero, MD, specializes in neurosurgery at Ochsner Health. He has experience in the treatment of brain and spinal tumors, degenerative spine disease, traumatic brain and spinal cord injury, facial pain and spasm among other conditions. Dr. Morales earned his medical degree from Industrial University of Santander in Bucaramanga, Colombia, in 2013. He then went on to work as a research fellow in the department of neurosurgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He finished his neurosurgery residency at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville, Virginia, in 2022. During residency, he obtained advanced training in neurocritical care and spent a year abroad working as a senior neurosurgery registrar in Auckland, New Zealand. Dr. Morales also completed a fellowship in neurosurgical oncology at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. He actively participates in the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, and the North American Skull Base Society. Dr. Morales is dedicated to addressing the medical needs of his patients while understanding individual concerns and goals. He has been practicing at Ochsner since 2023.
