Shail Thanki, MD, specializes in neurology at Ochsner Health. He is a dual-fellowship trained vascular and interventional neurologist who specializes in minimal invasive endovascular interventions and treatment of cerebral and spinal vascular conditions. Dr. Thanki is experienced in treating vascular conditions of brain and spinal cord such as ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, aneurysms, carotid artery disease, cervical artery dissection, arterio-venous malformations, arterio-venous fistula, subdural hematoma, pulsatile tinnitus, intractable epistaxis, and tumor embolization. He also has extensive experience in clinical trials and is interested in novel use of endovascular devices and advanced neuro-imaging in acute ischemic & hemorrhagic stroke. He is currently serving as medical director of the stroke program at Ochsner Lafayette General and works closely with Louisiana Emergency Response Network (LERN) in providing emergency stroke treatment in the region. In his spare time, Dr. Thanki enjoys traveling, hiking and soccer.
