Shelley O'Brien, FNP-C, specializes in neurology and sleep medicine at Ochsner Health. She is dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centered care. Her goal is to partner with patients to improve their health, enhance their quality of life and achieve the best possible outcomes. Shelley earned her Bachelor of Science in nursing from McNeese State University in 1995 and her Master of Science in nursing from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2025. She brings more than 30 years of nursing experience to her practice, with most of her career spent caring for critically ill patients in the intensive care unit. This extensive clinical background provides her with a strong foundation in managing complex medical conditions and delivering high-quality, evidence-based care. Shelley is an active member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, demonstrating her commitment to professional excellence and lifelong learning. Outside of work, Shelley enjoys spending time with her family and traveling.
