Tonye A. Jones, MD

Dr. Tonye Jones is a urologist at Ochsner Health. Dr. Jones received both his undergraduate degree in biological sciences as well as his medical degree from Louisiana State University. He then completed his surgical internship at the University of California in Los Angeles, where he received the UCLA Excellence in Teaching Award. He went on to complete his urology residency at the University of California in Los Angeles, earning awards in American Urological Association, STOP Cancer Seed Grant, NIH/National Medical Association Travel and NMA Excellence in Research. Dr. Jones has been on staff at Ochsner since August 2019. His clinical interests include preventive urology, general urology, stone disease, prostate cancer and kidney disease.

The Doctor viewed my chart. We talked about why I was there to see him. He asked me if I had a history of prostrate cancer as my chart reported. I told him that I was never diagnosed with prostrate cancer. He told me that I had no sign of of prostrate cancer and that he would make a note of his findings on my chart. He had me take a PSA, Screeing after I left his office. We also discussed another issue I was having and prescribed a medication for me to take. My appointment with Dr. Jones made my feel very comfortable with him.

Dr. Jones began my recent visit after obviously reviewing my records. He had complete up to date knowledge on my condition. He took the time to discuss and suggest treatment. Also modified meds for currency. Left his office very satisfied with the visit and confident in his judgement.

2- reviews: 1st to Dr. Jones and staff. Dr. Jones and his staff are superb. Friendly faces, pertinent information, attentive to all my needs, questions & concerns. Dr. Jones is very relatable and has a great "bed-side manner". This is so important with the patient-to-doctor exchanges as Dr. Jones is very easy to approach and discuss my concerns with. Well Done! 2nd to receptionist at front entrance, Ms. Diana. Ms. Diana starts your visit off with such a pleasant manner, smiling face and truly does more than her job. The few times I've visited the office, Ms. Diana truly left a smile on my face. So refreshing☺☺☺! Thanks again, Ned Dufrene.
