Nurse Practitioner Vera Williams received her undergraduate degree in nursing from Our Lady of Holy Cross College in New Orleans in 1992. Following this she completed her Masters, Post Masters, and Doctorate studies at Southeastern Louisiana University. Her doctoral publication was entitled Enhancing HIV Testing Opportunities Through the Implementation of an Opt-Out HIV screening in a Rural Academen ED: A DNP Project. Dr. Williams is board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners as an Adult Nurse Practitioner. She is also certified by the American Academy of Grief Counseling as a Certified Grief Counselor. She has been on staff at Ochsner since 2016. She has been licensed as a registered nurse since 1992 and as Nurse Practitioner in 2003. Her expertise is in Primary Care and in her spare time she enjoys antique/thrift shopping and rehabbing old homes.
