Wendi Konomos, NP, practices family medicine at Ochsner Health. She is a board-certified nurse practitioner, credentialed by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a gerontological nurse practitioner. Wendi is also a certified diabetes care and education specialist. Her clinical background includes several years of experience in endocrinology and diabetes care, followed by more recent work in family and internal medicine. Her primary focus is adult and geriatric care.



A longtime resident of South-Central Texas, Wendi earned a master’s degree in biomedical sciences from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 2007. Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, she worked as a registered nurse, accumulating more than 40 years of experience in healthcare. Wendi was nationally recognized for clinical excellence in diabetes care with the Bridges to Excellence Award.



Wendi’s extensive nursing background has provided a strong foundation for her role as an advanced practice registered nurse. She values the lessons learned from working closely with patients and families, which she considers an invaluable part of her education. In 2023, Wendi joined Ochsner Health. She remains committed to using her knowledge and experience to improve the health of residents in the area and believes Ochsner is dedicated to enhancing both the provider and patient experience.
