Willard Moore is a fellowship-trained, board certified orthopedic surgeon who specializes in primary and revision hip and knee replacements. He received additional subspecialty training in minimally invasive techniques including direct anterior approach total hip and partial knee replacement.
Dr. Moore graduated from Princeton University with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and certificates in engineering biology and materials science. He earned his medical degree from Vanderbilt University followed by a residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham where he served as Chief Resident and received the Kurt W. Niemann Award as the outstanding orthopedic resident in his graduating class. Between residency and fellowship, Dr. Moore spent fifteen months working as an orthopedic trauma surgeon at Tenwek Mission Hospital in Kenya. He completed a fellowship in joint replacement at the Anderson Orthopedic Clinic (the Engh Fellowship) in Alexandria, Virginia. He then worked in Nashville, Tennessee where he served as the medical director of the Saint Thomas Joint Replacement Institute, Midtown Campus. Dr. Moore joined Ochsner Health in 2019. He performs surgery at Ochsner Hospital for Orthopedics and Sports Medicine on Clearview Parkway, Ochsner Medical Center on Jefferson Highway, and Ochsner Baptist on Napoleon Avenue.
He is originally from Birmingham, Alabama and is married to Jeanne-Anne Moore, an Ochsner pediatrician and Louisiana native. They have two boys.
