An Ochsner O Bar is a first-of-its-kind retail experience that offers an interactive environment for patients to test physician-curated health technologies.
An Ochsner O Bar is a first-of-its-kind retail experience that offers an interactive environment for patients to test physician-curated health technologies.
First opened in 2015, each O Bar is staffed with a technology specialist who can answer questions and provide demonstrations. These “genius” bars are a place where all patients can find the right tool for them and get set up to use it.
O Bars are stocked with the latest in digital health devices, ranging from wireless blood pressure cuffs to activity trackers, and equipped with iPads loaded with over 100 health apps that can be browsed and demoed before downloading to a personal device. Featured apps address a wide range of topics, including nutrition, fitness, women’s health, diabetes and smoking cessation.
For patients enrolling in our Ochsner digital care programs, such as Digital Medicine or Connected MOM, the O Bars are available to prepare them with the tech tools and confidence needed to participate.
We have O Bars in clinics throughout Ochsner Health, and a mobile O Bar truck that visits additional facilities and special events.
