About the Facility:
Ochsner Extended Care Hospital is a Long-Term Acute Care Hospital that provides medically necessary inpatient services to patients admitted upon referral from a transferring acute care hospital or treating care team. The items and services furnished during an inpatient stay are determined based on the patient's clinical condition, medical needs, physician orders, and individualized plan of care. Accordingly, services provided at Ochsner Extended Care Hospital are generally not independently selected, scheduled, or purchased by patients in advance, but rather are furnished as part of a physician-directed course of treatment and determined by the patient's evolving medical needs throughout the hospitalization. While certain services identified within the CMS-defined shoppable services framework may be provided during an inpatient admission, such services are typically furnished as components of a medically necessary inpatient stay and are not offered as standalone, separately shoppable services.
