Ochsner Medical Center

For the 15th consecutive year, Ochsner Medical Center – New Orleans, inclusive of Ochsner Medical Center- West Bank Campus, Ochsner Baptist, and Ochsner Hospital for Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, has been named by U.S. News & World Report to its Best Hospitals list, ranking for 2026-2027 as the Best Hospital in Louisiana and the No. 1 hospital in the New Orleans metro area. In addition, the medical specialties of obstetrics and gynecology and pulmonary and lung surgery have been ranked among the Top 50 in the nation.

Nationally ranked specialties and High Performing service lines

Obstetrics and gynecology ranked No. 32 in the nation for women's healthcare — an achievement led by the teams at Ochsner Baptist and Ochsner Medical Center - West Bank Campus. Ochsner Medical Center’s pulmonary and lung surgery service lines ranked No. 47 in the nation. Neurology and neurosurgery ranked in the nation’s top 10%, as did orthopedics, which ranked No. 1 in the state and No. 1 in the New Orleans metro area. 

Additionally,  Ochsner Medical Center has received the "High Performing" ranking in the following procedures and conditions: chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), colon cancer surgery, diabetes, gynecological cancer surgery, heart attack, heart bypass surgery, heart failure, hip fracture, hip replacement, knee replacement, lung cancer surgery, pacemaker implantation, pneumonia, prostate cancer surgery, leukemia, lymphoma & myeloma.

Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center

Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center, inclusive of Ochsner Lafayette General Surgical Hospital, Ochsner Lafayette General Orthopedic Hospital and Ochsner Cancer Center of Acadiana, earned "High Performing" recognition in six procedures and conditions: acute kidney failure, hip replacement, knee replacement,  leukemia, lymphoma & myeloma, lung cancer surgery and stroke. 

 

2025 - 2026 Rankings

Ochsner Children's Hospital
 

Ochsner Children's Hospital has been named a top hospital for kids in Louisiana for the fifth consecutive year, according to the 2025-2026 Best Children's Hospital rankings by U.S. News & World Report. For the ninth year in a row, U.S. News & World Report has ranked Ochsner Children's Hospital among the Top 50 Children’s Hospitals in the country. This year, Ochsner Children's Hospital ranked in cardiology and heart surgery and gastroenterology and GI surgery by U.S. News & World Report.

Ochsner Children's Hospital has offered exceptional pediatric care for 80 years. Ochsner offers the only pediatric heart and liver transplant program in the state, serving over 100,000 children every year with 200 physicians specializing in more than 30 pediatric specialties and sub-specialties. Ochsner Children’s Hospital is located in New Orleans, with subspecialty clinics across Louisiana and in Mississippi.
