Biography
Dr. Nikolic earned her medical degree from the University of Vienna Medical School in 2000 and completed her residency at East Jefferson General Hospital in Metairie, Louisiana, in 2004. She is board-certified in both family practice and urgent care, reflecting her dedication to accessible, comprehensive patient care.
She is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Medical Association, American Academy of Family Physicians, American Urgent Care Association, American Board of Urgent Care Medicine and the Louisiana State Medical Society. Dr. Nikolic also contributes to medical education and policy through her involvement with Sigma Iota Epsilon, the Louisiana State University Shreveport honor society, and the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners Physician Assistants Advisory Committee.
Fluent in English, Croatian and German, Dr. Nikolic also speaks Italian and French at an intermediate level and has a working knowledge of Spanish, allowing her to connect with a diverse patient population. In 2009, she was recognized with Gambit’s 40 Under 40 award for her professional accomplishments and community impact.
She has practiced at Ochsner since 2017, where she is known for her compassionate approach to medicine, addressing both clinical and personal needs. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, spending time with her children, playing volleyball and exploring new experiences.
