Biography

Alexis Ambeau, PhD, specializes in neuropsychology at Ochsner Health. She specializes in assessing the cognitive functioning of adults with a wide range of conditions including neurodegenerative disorders and other dementias, movement disorders, multiple sclerosis and other autoimmune disorders, traumatic brain injury (TBI), stroke, central nervous system infections and primary psychiatric disorders.


Dr. Ambeau received her PhD in counseling psychology from Ball State University in Indiana. She completed her APA-accredited internship at the VA Salt Lake City Health Care System in Utah. Dr. Ambeau completed a two-year APPCN-accredited fellowship in clinical neuropsychology at Ochsner Health in New Orleans.


Dr. Ambeau's clinical training emphasizes integrative, culturally informed care and comprehensive evaluations to support diagnosis, treatment planning, and patient education. Her research focuses on health disparities in neurocognitive and neurodegenerative disorders.
