Amanda C. Martin received a Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Science in Boston, MA. Before joining Ochsner, Amanda worked as a PA for over a year and in various other medical capacities for over 3 years. Additionally, Amanda is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Louisiana Academy of Physician Assistants.

She was very courteous, helpful, informative, friendly, professional, and offered to assist me in the future if my primary care physician was not available.
Amanda Martin is a HUGE ASSET to Oschner. She took my pain seriously when another doctor told me it was normal. I am so grateful for her care and her concern. She also broke some really difficult news to me in a kind, caring and informative way. She deserves a raise, a promotion, and kudos of all kinds.
Excellent care
Very kind and caring, she took the time to answer all of my questions and was empathetic to my condition. She let me know I could contact her through myocshner if I needed anything or had further questions.
Amanda talk to me about my concerns about my health and she explained not only the steps I needed to take, but she also explained why. She spoke about the tests and the things she was going to do to ensure that we accomplish the goals we were setting.

Amanda Martin PA-C was on time and ready for me. It was clear she had reviewed my chart and the reason for my visit before she came to the exam room. She advised me of tests she wanted to run in the clinic, and kept me updated on what that would mean for my time in clinic. She ordered me Tylenol to be administered in office to help with my fever and body aches. Amanda was incredibly caring and knowledgeable. She included me on all decisions regarding my care. Great experience with her.
I think there was a miscommunication about why I was there, as she only thought I was there for my annual check-up. I think because of that, she came in moving rather quickly and I think expecting it to go quickly as just a quick thing. While I was there for my annual, I had also reported one larger thing I wanted to talk about (which I don't think she was notified about even though it was in my appointment request form), so when she came in moving quickly, it left me feeling like she may not take the time to ask questions and truly listen to my concerns (which I've experienced in the past with other doctors, and I'm always nervous about). I do think she still listened well and addressed my concerns, but I think the miscommunication about why I was there made me feel a little less comfortable than usual. Despite that, I did still feel heard and cared for, and would recommend her to others (especially since I've seen her before and really liked her then as well!).
